Here is the third installment of the Search Words for Refine Me series (Part 1, Part 2), which I am doing not because of any SEO chuva, but because it’s so amusing to do. This installment is particularly amusing. ;) Much thanks to SiteMeter for this. :D

I bet I’d get a lot of hits for Piolo Pascual once again. LOL. Till next installment!

Okay, let’s back down memory lane a bit. I confessed my love for the Backstreet Boys a couple of months back, and here I am with another confession (which I kind of mentioned before as well): I am a fan of The Moffatts. Yeah, yeah, I admit that I cried when a friend told me they really died shortly after their If Life is So Short video came out, and yes, I still feel sad that Dave Moffatt (my favorite one) is gay…but the entire “I love The Moffatts” thing is for another post. Anyway, I got back to this particular band because a friend posted a video of them from when God knows when…and it made me search for old mp3s and videos of them which brought me to this video:

Well, that was a long segue. Memories, anyone? In case you don’t know (GASP!), this is a video of Let the Music Heal Your Soul by Bravo All Stars. I remember squealing with delight when I first saw this video since it has both Backstreet Boys and The Moffatts. Then there’s me buying a tape of this compilation and singing the song with the instrumental version backup for Music class back in freshmen high school year. Ahh, memories!

Despite its cheesiness and its teenybopperishness, this is a pretty heartwarming song. :P And you just have to love how Brian (B-Rok) belts out his lines, and how Aaron Carter looks so totoy and how there’s this shot of him looking at a frame of his older brother Nick. I can’t get over the fact that the guys in the video move so much, with all the arm waving and such. I can’t pinpoint who the other artists were though, except for Gil Ofarim, The Moffatts and Justin Timberlake (where are the rest of the N Sync?).

Who can help me identify who’s who in the video? And what do you think of the song? Come on, let your teenybopper selves out now. ;)

Hello. I’ve been meaning to blog for the past couple of days but everytime I get home from work I had to fix other things (like rip Season 2 of CSI:NY and put it in Triskal, or fix dinner, or fix the clothes that were just ironed, or just plain sleep because I seem to be lacking). My new work has caused me to be a bit more tired than the usual, hence my missing attendance in the Taste Asia Bloggers event, which I really wanted to go to but my meeting at work finished late and I had to bring home this really thick handout which I have to read for the weekend.

But don’t get me wrong. I am enjoying my work, even if I am not really doing anything just yet. The past three days has been orientation time, and I think I can say that I am going to love it here. From everything I’ve heard from my friends who already work there and the orientation, I know that I am in good hands, and I will be able to start building my career here. I love how one of the company’s values is trust and personal responsibility, which means the company pretty much trusts us to conduct our businesses honestly and that we’d be responsible for ourselves. I love the fact that we’re all required to call everyone in first name basis, even if its our bosses. I love that everyone is treated as equals, as even the bosses have the same seats and tables that we have. I love that our offices are colorful, and that there are a lot of other places and venues for us to relax in the midst of work. And finally, I love how my new company is active in Gawad Kalinga and that we can wear jeans during Fridays and still be able to contribute to GK. :)

All of those are a plus, because the main thing here is that I will be able to do something that I finally like: webdesign. Although I wouldn’t be designing pages as much as Liz or Rick do for their work, I’ll be doing something kind of similar. :) Something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. Plus my teammates seem like cool people. :D Wanted job + awesome company + great teammates = what more can I ask for?

Work for Google? Haha. Maybe someday. ;) But for now, I’m happy to be one of the Identical Blue Men. Figure it out.

But what am I doing home today? Thankfully, my new boss let us take the next two days off at work to fix our pre-employment requirements. But since I’m basically done (all I’m waiting for is my clearance from my last work, which won’t be in for a month), I will be heading off to my alma mater in a while to finally get my college yearbook and meet with some people I haven’t seen for so long. And if the yearbook is not that heavy (asa pa), I’ll squeeze in some “required” clothes shopping for work. Yes, I consider that part of the requirements. :)

I’ve got more training next week but I will try to blog a bit more since I’ll be having a PC by then. :D But if I don’t, that means I’m seriously listening. Speaking of, I feel like I’m in school again. Ah yes!

And again, speaking of school, I better get ready so I can be there by lunchtime. :) Toodles!

At the office with Vanessa and RachelleLast Friday was my last day at work. I was permitted to be a bit relaxed, provided I finish all the documents for turnover and request for transfer early. Around 3:00pm I was done, so all I did was talk with my officemates and do some picture taking. I was really surprised at all the good luck messages I got and the cake I received from one of the vendors. :) And luckily, I also got paid yesterday which means I won’t be poor for the next two weeks until I get paid for my new job. :) Praise God.

I still can’t believe I’m done with my first job. Wow. It’s been an amazing journey, and even if I felt like wanting to quit a lot of times already, every moment is irreplaceable. Great Adventure indeed.

And speaking of Great Adventure, Tuesday, Happy and I went to meet the person who composed and sang the song, Steven Curtis Chapman. Yesterday was his second night of concert sponsored by Cathedral of Praise. Of course we wouldn’t miss this one, so we got there early. Funny though, because I think God played a joke on us because Happy and I almost didn’t get back in when we took a CR break at around 5:30pm. I will be eternally grateful to this guy usher who Tuesday talked to so we could get back in again. We didn’t get his name, but I will really pray for him.

The show was great! I still wish he sang Moment Made for Worshipping but it’s okay because he sang Great Adventure anyway (in a really rocking version!), plus other favorites like Dive, Speechless, For the Sake of the Call. :) Great great night.

With Chris ChesbroAnd then we got to hang out with the band afterwards. See, last year, Tuesday was one of their tour guides when they visited here (I was a part of the team too, but I was selling tickets so I didn’t get to go around with them). So this year, Tuesday introduced us to Chris (the band’s bassist), who picked us up and brought us upstairs (which got him into trouble…oops!) so we ended up hanging out in the green room. A little while later, Steven’s sons, Caleb and Will, and their sound engineer, Russ, joined us and we took tons and tons of pictures and talked. I have to say, Chris is the most popular one that night, with all his photo ops and whatnot. :P It was fun hanging out with them, getting to see their personalities aside from their stage presence.

Unfortunately, Steven was busy so we didn’t get to talk to him that much. We only saw him right before they left, which gave us the photo op:

They had to leave because they were up to watch Transformers (Awesome movie, btw). Tuesday dropped us off at Taft, we ate late dinner and then headed to Robinson’s Pioneer to wait for my brother to pick us up.

Today, I am watching CSI: Miami on AXN, and I should get ready to go out because I’m up for a haircut/pedicure and picture taking for my 1×1′s for my new job tomorrow. I better get going if I want to get back home by 6:30 for the mass.

Awesome weekend, and I’m praying for an awesome week at my new work. :) Have a blessed Sunday everyone. :)
