Getting to know me

Because I’m procrastinating having a hard time writing the feedback forms I’m supposed to email before the end of my shift on this light payday Friday, and I’m also having a hard time writing a blog post with substance (one that doesn’t outline what I did for the entire day alone), here’s something I picked up from other blogs, especially from LiveJournal and Multiply.

This is one of those numerous personality tests online that looks like Kokology questions (I loved that book), which tells you who you are based on what you choose given certain situations (e.g., you are walking in a forest, what do you see, etc etc). I saw a similar test like this in Candy magazine years ago, but I couldn’t remember how I fared. So here’s another one, with the questions, the answers I gave and my comments (just so this would be a longer and less random sounding blog entry :D). Comments in italics. :)

Question # 1: Imagine that you are walking along a path. What do you see around you?
Answer: A yellow corn field against a brilliant blue sky.
Interpretation: (View on Self) You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don’t like conflict. Because you’re so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.
I…have no comments. Haha. Really, I am? I can be pretty friendly, I guess. Cheerful most of the time. I’m not sure if people are “naturally attracted to me and like to talk to me” since I know I give off the “suplada” vibe. Or do I?

Question # 2: What do you see near your feet?
Answer: A bottle
Interpretation: (Type of boyfriend I am looking for) You like serious, smart and determined people. You don’t judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren’t necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people’s eyes.
LOLz! But yes, good looking people (especially the “crush ng bayan”) are not my type. Yes, they’re cute, but it’s always only up to that. I don’t like having competition. ;) But this makes me an attractive person in many people’s eyes? Hee! =))

Question # 3: Will you pick it up?
Answer: No.
Interpretation: (Readiness to commit in a relationship) You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.
Can I laugh again? Hee. But on a serious note…yes, that is definitely me. Well, that’s what I plan to be, when the time comes. :P So I guess it would take some time before I start thinking about wedding flowers, yes?

Question # 4: You walk along and find water. In what form is the water?
Answer: A lake.
Interpretation: (The seriousness of your love) You are very serious about relationships and aren’t interested in wasting time with people you don’t really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.
What is it with the love questions? Haha. But I guess this is right too. No experience to back it up, but yes, relationships are important to me. My teammate often says I’m very hard to pair up with someone, and I guess it is because I don’t really entertain people I don’t like in that way that I get paired up with. Not that I’m being snobby, but I’d rather not get paired to someone I don’t like in that way…unless it’s a big joke and both of us are riding the joke. :P I like the last part of this: you will fall deeply and beautifully in love. *insert sigh here*

Question # 5: You see a key in the water and you pick it up. What does it look like?
Answer: A small silver locker key.
Interpretation: (View on education) You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.
Okay…this is not me. Education is very important for me, and my job is hardly unusual at all. ^^;

Question # 6: Next you stumble across a house. What type of house is it?
Answer: A hut with a garden full of flowers
Interpretation: (The right job for you) You’re a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you’ll be set for life.
I’d have to say this is true. Especially the knowing what you like to do. I’m not sure about the “set for life” though.

Question # 7: What do you do next?
Answer: Look into the window.
Interpretation: (View on Success) You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don’t succeed. Don’t give up when you haven’t yet even started! Be courageous.
This is kind of like me, in the sense that I’m kind of afraid of failure (who isn’t?). I’ve been through this, before I jumped and took the risk, I was afraid of trying because I failed once. But look where I am now. :D I think this is past, in some way. :D

Question # 8: Suddenly, something jumps out at you. What is it?
Answer: A wizard
Interpretation: (Most afraid of) You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.
So, so true! Control freak ahoy.

Question # 9: Because you are so scared you run until you see a wall blocking the path in front of you. There is a door, but it’s locked, so you look through the key hole. What do you see?
Answer: A beautiful house with a vast garden.
Interpretation: (True self) You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.
Um. This feels like one of the nicest things I’ve ever read about myself, even if a computer generated it. I kind of agree with the last sentence, about the heart over mind thing. I admit, I’m a mind over heart person (hence control freak), so this would definitely make it hard for me (enter the drama).

Do you think I really am like this? What about you? Share your answers! Take the test here and tell me how you fared. :)
