Friday's Feast # 9

Long weekend up ahead! And this time I really promise to work on the following:

  • The soon-to-be due Flash project I need to finish
  • My NaNoWriMo novel preparations

But first!

Name a great website you would recommend to others.

In the spirit of the upcoming writing event, one great website that I would recommend is the National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org) website. There’s an inner writer in you that wants to write a novel, and this is the perfect time. :) Sign up now!

Soup
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as highest), how often do you dream at night?

I dream a lot…so around 8, I guess? I hardly remember most of my dreams though. Last night I dreamt I was talking to someone about my upcoming novel, but I’m not entirely sure how it all happened. :D But I dream about the weirdest things too, like me and a group of friends getting some superpowers, and a friend of mine could transform into a horse and run really fast and she used it to run away from our enemy, and I tried transforming into a cheetah but nothing happened (except that I got aching arms), and we were all trying to protect a blue fairy named Seth, who looks a lot like Rice from the Beethoven movies. Hm. I told you it’s weird. There might even be a part of that dream that involves power supply repair, but I can’t remember anymore. :P

Salad
Did you have a pet as a child? If so, what kind and what was its name?

The first pet I ever remember having was a big black dog named Darna. She was a nice dog, but she died after a year or something. :(

Main Course
If you had the chance to star in a commercial, what would you choose to advertise?

I don’t know…anything geeky, perhaps? Haha I’m a geek at heart. :) Or notebooks? Haha I can’t think. I’m more of a backstage/behind-the-scenes person. :D

Dessert
What is your favorite kind of hard candy?

Skittles. That’s hard candy, right? :)

If you’re a Filipino who’s joined NaNoWriMo, make sure your home region is set to Asia :: Philippines so you can join the fun in the Philippines forum. To know how to set your home region, click here. :)

Fridays Feast # 8

It’s Friday and our servers are down again. :( I’m supposed to be writing a document that’s somekinda overdue, as well as tinkering with Flash but I’m too lazy to do the two things. Plus I have a meeting tonight so I sort of have time for that later. Yes, I’m procrastinating…ah, it’s been a long time since I wrote those words. :)

Anyway, serving up Friday’s Feast # 8!

If you were a dog, what breed would you be, and why?

I’d probably be a golden retriever. Haha, I just love that dog. :) It’s big, playful and nice, and I’ve always wanted to have that kind of dog if only I have the time to take care of it. A runner up would be a schnauzer, but it’s kind of too masculine because of that moustache. :D

Soup
What does the color purple make you think of?

My favorite color! :) It also reminds me of the Unicorns, as in the Sweet Valley Unicorns, as well. My debut, grapes, ube, my favorite bag back in high school. Partner that up with pink and it’s cute.

Salad
Approximately how long does it take you to get ready each morning?

An hour? Depends on how energetic I feel. If I’m running late, I can finish getting ready in 30 minutes. One hour is just enough for me to take a shower, get dressed, fix my bags and eat breakfast. :D

Main Course
How many cousins do you have, and are you close to them?

I don’t know how many cousins I have, but we’re not really a big clan…so around 20? I think? Unfortunately, we’re not really that close — as I posted more than a year ago. I am getting better at talking to them, but we just don’t really hang out. We didn’t really grow up together, nor went to school together, save for a few. Or, my brother’s close to some of them, but we don’t really hang out. I envy people who are so close to their cousins that they have weekly playstation 3 sessions with them, just like other people do with friends who are not related to them by blood. *sigh* I’m still working on some of my cousin relations. :D

Dessert
Take your initials (first, middle, last) and come up with something else those letters could stand for. (Example: SFO = Sweet Funny Otter)

KAM. Um…King Action Matrix? Haha, where did that come from?  It’s hard to find a meaning for the letter K. :P

Happy Friday, everyone! :)

Friday's Feast # 7

I haven’t done this for the longest time, but since today is a Holiday Friday and a good one at that, it’s just right to do some “feasting”. So here we go, my seventh Friday’s Feast. :)

When was the last time you were surprised?

Um, this is tricky. I honestly can’t remember. Watching Resident Evil: Extinction was more of shocking than surprising, and I’m pretty sure the surprise here does not mean the “Boo!” kind. As for the birthday kind of surprise…um, two years ago, on my 19th birthday at the YFC tambayan. Simple surprise only. I was supposed to have a thesis defense but it didn’t push through, so I went to the tambayan and was about to go home but my friends kept on asking me to stay…then they started singing Happy Birthday. Sweet. :)

I am still waiting for the I-can’t-believe-you-went-through-all-this-surprise. *hint*

Soup
Fill in the blanks: My eyes are ________, but I wish they were __________.

My eyes are near-sighted, but I wish they were not. I used to think wearing glasses is really cool when I got them, but now I don’t. I wish I took care of my eyesight way back. I didn’t destroy my eyesight because of the computer; I destroyed it because of all the reading I did in poor lighting. Yep, I’d read beside a candle, read lying down, even read in the car in the dark. Ooops. Lesson learned: have proper lighting (seagull lighting looks nice…but is it bright enough?) when reading.

Oh well. I have really nice frames though. ;)

Salad
If you were a Beanie Baby, what would you look like and what would your name be?

I have only one Beanie Baby at home given to me during my 18th birthday. It’s a duck named Quackers. Why? Um…let’s not talk about it. Anyway, interestingly, I only found out about that it’s a Beanie Baby now. Hehe. So if I were a Beanie Baby…can I be a tiger? Or a cat? But I’d rather be a tiger. :) And I’d name myself Rawr. :P

Main Course
Name two things you consistently do that you consider to be healthy habits.

Ahh, the times I try to be healthy. Haha. First off, I drink water immediately after I wake up. I hear it’s healthy, and it’s supposed to reset my metabolism for the day so I get hungry and digest food properly. Another thing I’m trying my best to adopt is not to eat pork. My dad has swown off pork and beef already, but sometimes I still end up eating some (sisig! liempo!), but I try as much not to eat them anymore.

Dessert
What brand of toothpaste are you using these days? Do you like it? Why or why not?

Right now we’re using that Colgate Apple Mint flavor. It’s okay, but it’s too Close Up like for me. I used to like Close Up, but I started liking Colgate more because my mouth feels cleaner afterwards. What I really like is the classic Colgate and the three-stripes one. Gotta love that plain minty-fresh breath! :)

Friday's Feast # 6

Okay, I just finished a whole lot of training for the past two days and I’m not happy. But mostly because the second training drained me, plus there are all sorts of stresses going around that I hardly know which one to do first. Boo.

But I’m okay! I think. Haha, wait, let me rephrase that — I am okay, period. Now a boxing session please? :) (More about this on the next post :P)

Anyway, I haven’t done Friday’s Feast for the longest time, and because my brain is drained (see the rhyming), I’ll do something like this because it’s sort of mindless. Sort of, but not really.

SEE. Brain drain. 8-}

Who is the easiest person for you to talk to?

– Hm. I know a lot of people I like talking to…but if I had to pick who’s the easiest to talk to…it’s probably Chris, my high school friend. He calls me up every now and then and we’d get to talk about everything under the sun, even something as boring as home furniture. My other high school friend Anthony follows closely, but he’s not the easiest one for the simple fact that we can hardly catch each other on the phone, but only when we’re with Chris.

Soup
If you could live in any ancient city during the height of the quality of its society and culture, which one would you choose?

– Because my brain is tired, I’d probably pick Sumerian civilization. Only because I gave a report about this during high school years. But now that I think about it…Ancient Greece would be a good choice, I guess. Specifically at Athens.

Okay, and again, now that I have thought about it…I’d like to live during the time Jesus lived too. But I wonder how I would’ve treated him…?

Salad
What is the most exciting event you’ve ever witnessed?

– Oh dear. I don’t know. Probably the Hillsong United worship last November? Having a hard time recalling. :P

Main Course
If you were a celebrity, what would you do for a publicity stunt?

– Simply speaking, I’d probably make issues about myself and laugh about it. That’s enough publicity. Haha. Or tell everyone that my driver’s license says that I’m Male instead of Female.
Dessert
What do you consider the ideal age to have a first child?

– 28, I guess? That’s a pretty mature age enough for me. But if that age catches me still travelling and seeing the world, make that 29. :P

I still have so much to do! Actually they’re only a little, but I feel so wound up right now, that I feel like I should be doing something, but I’m not. Bah! Relax, Tina.

Boxing, anyone? ;)

Friday's Feast # 4

Hello, Friday! Hello, June!

I never mentioned it, but I started a Script Frenzy blog. Script Frenzy is a 30-day writing activity just like National Novel Writing Month, where you need to write a 20,000 word screenplay/stageplay in a span of 30 days. startingI was all set to join but I decided not to this year seeing as I have a lot to deal with this June. And that I don’t have any ideas to write. Well I do, but it’s not fully formed, and I can see it more as a novel than a script. So…I guess I’ll be killing that blog for now until further notice. Of course, I could still join it in the middle of the month, and whip out 20k words then, but let’s see how this month goes first. :)

There you go, I haven’t been blogging as much this week because I didn’t want to go over the bandwidth, especially after Noemi already added some to last me until the end of May (Thanks again!). It’s already June here, and a few hours to go with my host, so yay! I hope to have a new theme up by this weekend so I can start focusing on those money-making stuff I will get into this month to start earning for the things I’m saving up for that (unfortunately) my salary cannot cover.

I talk too much. Time for Friday’s Feast!

Name something you think is “the best.”

– Aside from being loved by God and my family and friends and being blessed (all those are the best, of course), since we’re talking about Friday’s Feast, I’ll talk about food. Right now I’ll be biased: my chocolate revel bars. It’s the best baked thing I ever made — I could cook one batch of it and it would be gone in a day. :P It’s even better than our family brownies or my chocolate cake (which always bakes like bread, hmph). I want to bake them again this weekend but I’m out of oats. :( But yeah, I scheduled some Apple Crisp cooking this weekend — wish me luck!

Soup
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 highest), how stressed are you today?

– Somewhere around 6, I guess. Work is stressing me, even if there’s really not much to stress over with, unlike late last year where everyday I was stressed over this project. I have a project right now with personal deadlines, and it’s kind of stressing me out.

Salad
What kind of cleanser do you use to wash your face?

– I use Celeteque facial wash. I used to use Pond’s but it made my skin dry, and Cetaphil doesn’t have enough bubbles to make me happy. Celeteque works for me, although it is kind of expensive. I also use the Celeteque facial toner and moisturizer. ;)

Main Course
Tonight is a blue moon! What is something that you believe only happens “once in a blue moon.”

– It is? How come I didn’t see it? Haha. What happens once in a blue moon…Me winning $1M, I guess? :)

Dessert
When was the last time it rained where you live?

It rained here last Tuesday night. I live in the Philippines, where summer’s giving way to the rainy season. Hay, and I never even went to the beach this summer! :( How sad! But I am sort of liking rain now, but like Riz, it kinda makes me emo too. ^^;

It’s FRIDAY. And I got to work early today, which means early time out! Wohoo! I have 2 1/2 hours till I can goooo! Come on, weekend, let’s go!

Friday's Feast # 3

Thank God it’s Friday! ♥ Aren’t you happy it’s Friday already? I am, very much! Wohoo! But I’m sorta out of cash, so it’s not that happy happy, but it’s okay since it’s FRIDAY! Nothing really special planned, except to go out for coffee later and watch TV this weekend. Wohoo.

Bring on the Feast! Let’s get eating (I have Cheez Curls here — want some?)!

Friday's Feast

Appetizer
Name a sound you like to hear.

– I like the sound of Christian music. Oh, wait, you mean individual sounds? Okay, I love the sound of rain. Not the hard, storm-like rain but the gentle pitter-patter of raindrops on the rooftop or on the windowsill. Couple that up with a cold afternoon, good TV or good book and good music, ahhh. :)

I also love the sound of the waves crashing over the beach. Also the sound of kids laughing as they play. Weirdly enough, I also like hearing babies crying. Not because I get a sick satisfaction knowing that they are suffering or their parents are being disturbed but because whenever I hear them cry, it feels like there’s so much life. I’m weird that way.

Soup
What is your favorite kind of cheese?

– I’m not really that particular with my cheese but I have to admit that I’ve been putting more cheese on the food I eat lately — as in cheese in tuna sandwiches, cheese in egg sanwiches, cheese omelette, etc. Can I give three? I like cheddar (with the three things I mentioned above), cream cheese (on toasted wheat bread or on plain crackers or in cheesecakes) and parmesan cheese (on pasta…yum!).

Salad
Do you sleep late on Saturday mornings? Why or why not?

– Somewhere in between? I usually wake up at 9:00am, which is late with regards to my waking up at 6:00am on weekdays. But I don’t like waking up past 10:00am not only because my neck and back hurts from the sleeping, but also because I feel like I’ve wasted half my day doing nothing. I guess I’m more of a morning person than a night owl.

Main Course
When was the last time you forgot something? What was it, and how long did it take to remember it?

– As for an object…sometimes this week, I forgot to bring a handkerchief to work. I remembered it when I was already out of the house. Oops. Other than that…nothing. But I’m usually a forgetful person especially on short term things (I have better long term memory), but nothing major yet. :P

Dessert
Fill in the blank: I notice ____________ when _____________.

– I notice guys when they’re really cute they get along with their siblings well. I can’t think of anythin else. But what I wrote is true! Promise!

I am such in a silly mood. 8-} I must finish this report my boss is asking me to finish before the day ends. Happy Friday everyone!

Friday's Feast # 2

I just blew off P99 on a box of Smidgets from Mister Donuts. The box contains 33 pieces of Smidgets (or Munchkins, since it’s what we’re all familiar with), and I thought the box was originally P29, not P99. It sounds the same naman. Or maybe I should stop stuffing my ear with my iPod so I can hear better.

Anyway. It’s there, and I have about 30 Smidgets left. I feel bad for spending so much too fast when I’m going to watch Shrek 3 tomorrow and I could have spent that P99 on a popcorn for the movie or something. Oh well. Anyone want a Smidget?

Time for my second Friday’s Feast!

Friday's Feast # 2

Appetizer
List 3 emotions you experienced this week.

Sad, frustrated, excited.

Soup
Name a car you’d love to have.

– No doubt about it: a Honda Jazz! I’d love to have it in pink (so girly!), but any color would do, as long as it’s a Jazz. I will name my future car Betty, but before getting myself a car, I need to be able to drive on my own. :P

Salad
Describe your typical morning routine.

– I wake up, go to the kitchen to drink a glass of water, then head over to my room to get my towels and my contact lenses. I will wake my brother up to tell him to get ready and then take a shower. After the shower, if my brother isn’t up yet, I’d wake him up again, then get dressed. After getting dressed, I would pray, and then go out and eat breakfast and then leave for work.

I need to re-do my morning routine. I end up being so slow that I would miss out on my prayer time. :( I need to give more time for that, and I want to have time to do some exercises in the morning, even for at least 15-30 minutes.

This only means one thing: Wake up earlier. Gaaaah.

Main Course
Have you ever emailed someone famous? If so, who, and what did you say to them? Did they reply?

– Famous. I used to write snail mail letters to the Backstreet Boys and The Moffatts (GO AHEAD, LAUGH AT ME! :p). I remember emailing the Stephen Speaks (lemme see if I remember them all: TJ, Rockwell, Dain, Blake F., Blake H., and Amber) members back when they were still popular in the Philippines. Only one of them replied, though. Blake H., who is their bassist, I think. I still have his email in my inbox:

Tina,

If you could, send me the pics over e-mail. Thanks so much for remembering!!
All the pictures I’ve seen have been great, so I’m excited to see yours.

Thanks again for coming out to see us. Our time in Manila was unforgettable.

Blessings,
Blake H.

Oh yeah, Jamie, the group’s roadie and Rockwell’s girlfriend also replied to my email too:

hi tina!! ya email me the pics*! that would be awesome awesome*!* and take your time :) i know what its like to be busy hehe. have a great week!!
*Jamie

I never got to email back the pictures because I used a point and shoot and we still don’t have a scanner then. :(

Dessert
Do you listen to podcasts? If so, which ones?

– Yes, but not as much as other people who actually collect podcasts. I listen to some of New Release Tuesday, Grassroots Music and some of my blogger friends such as Riz‘s and the Band of Bloggers’ Podcast. It’s a random thing, really. Maybe when I (together with some friends) start podcasting, I’ll start listening more too.

Happy Friday everyone! :P

Friday's Feast # 1

This is my first time to participate in Friday’s Feast. I’ve seen other people do this so I’ll join the fun. :p Haha, yeahba.

Friday's Feast

Appetizer
Name something you would not want to own.

– Anything with frogs, as in real looking frogs. Kero kero keroppi I could handle, but the ones that actually mimic a real frog, please get it away from me. :-s

Soup
Describe your hair (texture, color, length, etc.).

– I have wavy layered black hair just a little bit below my shoulder. It’s originally wavy but I had it straightened a couple of times, so it has some kind of dry texture because of the chemicals. The last time I had it straightened was June last year, for my graduation. It’s black, but I have some stray white hairs here and there. :P

Salad
Finish this sentence: I’ll never forget ___________.

– I’ll never forget that God loves me regardless of how I feel about myself.

Main Course
Which famous person would you like to be for one day? Why?

– Hmmm…right now since I’m on a CSI mania, I’d like to be any of the characters inside the series. But since they’re fictional, I guess I’d like to be Bethany Dillon for a day. :P Hey, she sings for God and haves fun doing it — I don’t sing, but I’d love to see how it is to be in her shoes. She seems like such an interesting (and talented) person.

Dessert
Write one sentence about yourself that includes one thing that is true and another thing that is not.

– I am 5’4″ and I have five cats, a dog and a couple of kittens I haven’t counted yet. Figure it out. ;)
