U luv me furever? Right? Okay, first off, don’t you think this LOLcat is the cutest, ever? I squeed when I first saw this through my Google Reader. That anxious look on the cat’s face is just priceless; it makes me want to pick him up and cuddle him and assure him that I do luv him furever. See?

Aw shucks, now I really want my own cat. We have a cat at home but it’s really afraid of humans that it runs away when we get near. The only time he’s “friendly” with us is when he’s hungry. He sits by the table outside the door and “taps” us with his paw when he passes by. Er, okay, yeah we know you’re hungry.

I want a cat I can hold. And promise to luv him furever. Hmph.

Life’s been pretty busy. Wait, not just pretty, but very. Ugh. I hate that there’s too many distractions — Plurk, Facebook to mention a few. But then that only means I’m not focusing and I’d rather procrastinate. UGH. Focus Tina! Step up! I need you to step up!

Um…okay, now that was my stress talking. Hehe sorry about that. I’ll write more about stepping up sometime soon, when I have a grasp of what I am supposed to be doing. What’s for sure is there are big things and new responsibilities in the horizon, and I appreciate everything being done for me to face them, I just have to actually stop resisting and face them. Didn’t make sense? I know, but I hope I can figure it out soon. :)

I am looking forward to this weekend, for our upcoming beach trip. That should give me a bit of time to relax before plunging into work again next week. It’s going be difficult, but I know it’s an adventure (that hopefully does not involve cattle supplies). Time to grow up Tina. So help me God. :P

Anyway, I shouldn’t be blogging right now because I have this long Belgium request I need to finish…but I found this at Camy’s blog and thought I’d answer this too. :D

1. What time did you get up this morning?
7:00am. That’s actually quite late already; I’ve been waking up at 6 for the past few weeks. It feels weird waking up “late”.

2. Diamonds or pearls?
Pearls.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
The Spirit, with Happy. I liked it.

4. What is your favorite TV show?
Okay, the ones I really watch every week are Gossip Girl, Chuck, Privileged, The Big Bang Theory, Kyle XY, and CSI: NY. My favorites from those are Chuck, The Big Bang Theory and CSI:NY. All are geeky shows, did you notice? Haha. Other TV shows I like but ended already are Daria, As Told by Ginger and Joan of Arcadia. :)

5. What do you usually have for breakfast?
Cereal with milk and bananas. Or eggs. Depends on what I feel like making/cooking or what is available.

2008 Year-End Meme: First Sentences

Now that Christmas has come and gone, it’s time for all those year-end memes to come out and be posted to help reflect on the past year. :) This particular one was started last year, and it was really fun, so I thought I’d do it again. Here we go!

Instructions:
Take the first sentence (or two) from the first entry of each month and post it here. That’s your year in review.

  • January
And…here we go. New year, new layout, new philosophy. Yeah. HAPPY 2008, EVERYONE!
  • February
So today I start mid shift.
  • March
Yesterday consisted of: Sleeping in late, playing Heroes for a while in the morning, dressing up,  Jomar & Clarisse’s wedding (Congratulations!), seeing old friends who I haven’t seen since the Switchfoot in Manila event, seeing my Sociology professor in the wedding who I haven’t seen in five years and turns out to be Jomar’s friend (Small world!), becoming an impromptu tech person to help out with the video presentation for the pre-reception event, resting all night to recuperate from all of the past weeks’ activities.
  • April
I have one confession to make: I love summer.
  • May
It’s way past May 1 already, but…belated Happy Labor Day!
  • June
A lot has been happening in my life lately, most especially at work.
  • July
So…it’s been another year. :) Today, I celebrate my first year in my current company.
  • August
This is a post-dated entry just because I might not be able to post tomorrow. :)
  • September
I’ll be all cliche and say this: wake me up when September ends? Please?
  • October
It’s the first two days of October and I’m nursing a runny nose and a just-healed sore throat, but I’m starting to get my bearings again after such a busy month.
  • November
So it’s finally November, and weirdly enough, when 12 midnight rolls in, I did not feel like writing at all.
  • December
Today I filed my first sick leave in the span of one and a half years.

It seems a lot stressful than last year’s, don’t you think? Which only means this was a stressful year. Hah. I hope 2009 changes things. :)

Now off to finish the templates I’m working on.

Tagged by Ganns

I was tagged by Ganns. :)

The rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people and post a comment to Ganns’s blog (he’s the one who tagged me) once you’ve posted your three sentences.

I know the book on my Now Reading list is Pride and Prejudice, but to be honest, I haven’t budged. Ack. I like it, but I can’t seem to settle into it as easily as other books because of the language.

Anyway, I’ve decided to take a break from that, so now I brought another book for the ride to Batangas tomorrow for our beach trip tomorrow: Wicked by Gregory Maguire.

Wicked by Gregory Maguire

So after that loooong introduction, here’s my three sentences:

Damn! Double damn! He couldn’t concentrate.

Well. That’s certainly very…enlightening. Eh.

I’ve taken a break on reading after the last stash of books I got because I was too busy. ^^; But I spotted another book I’d like to have at National Bookstore earlier: The Host by Stephenie Meyer. But I must resist! I know books are not as expensive as a medical id bracelet, but I still have to buy a swimsuit! Plus the moment I buy one, I’d end up buying another bunch. Heh.

But I digress.

I’m tagging the following people:

  1. Sasha at The Parody
  2. Ate Angela at Seasonal Plume
  3. Jeric at Brinknotes
  4. Athena at Aquatique.net
  5. Katia at oh skipping beats

Okay back to work.

My Album Cover

I need not to be a singer or a member of a band who can make reservations in Las Vegas hotel to have an album cover, yes?

Okay, so maybe I’m ust slowing down my reading (even if I mentioned how excited I was to read everything I have in the previous post). Edward and Bella making me too excited. Eh.

MY ALBUM COVER
Instructions:
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover
You then take the pic and add your band name and the album title to it, then post your pic.

Here’s my album cover:

My Album Cover

Okay…my band name sucked, the album title sucked and finally, the image looks like it should go on a cookbook instead of an album. I didn’t even take the time to read what Gaius Cluilius is. Heh. Or this could be an album about…food?

What the heck. :P

My 500th post is on a leap year and about simple joys

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, people of the online world…this is my 500th post. I am seriously too tired to do some celebratory whatever, and I really planned to write this sometime else when I’m more clear-headed and not stressed out. I was supposed to write this one yesterday, but I was too strung out yesterday to write anything even of little substance.

Plus, it would be better to write today seeing as this day only comes once every four years, right?

To be honest, I’ve never been so stressed out in my job ever since I joined the company until now. It suddenly feels like we have so much workload and so many things to do outside work that it’s driving us crazy. Or at least, driving me crazy, but only because I’m neurotic like that. :P Hah. Sometimes I wonder if I took up too many responsibilities, if I have bitten off more than I can chew. Or if I just simply lack time because I’m on midshift and all the work comes in at midshift and all other activities just decided to come in this month too. Ack. I don’t know the reason, but two things for sure: February is the busiest month I’ve ever had, and I will definitely be resting after this. No extracurriculars, only the real work I have to do. I will devote my free time into rest & relaxation to practice work-life balance but in the cheapest way possible because I’m almost broke (which means no Nike golf…but then again I don’t play golf).

But February is just about to end. I still have tons of stuff to do today, but before I finally prepare for work, Joni tagged me to write down 10 simple joys, or 10 things that recently made me happy. I’m sure this would lift my spirits up somehow, and be ready to face the stress of today. Let’s see…

  1. Finishing one of our project team’s objectives for the quarter, and almost finishing this other one.
  2. Two consecutive dinners with IBM Club friends.
  3. Watching the footages of our account’s team building last December. Good times.
  4. Being able to pray more the past few days, especially the other day when I got hit by something God told me. Iyak tayo, dali.
  5. Meeting up with some college friends last weekend.
  6. Buying new clothes for a friend‘s upcoming wedding this Saturday. :)
  7. Receiving a commendation from a client.
  8. My brother who fetched me for the entire month of my midshift, despite our initial agreement of me going home by cab twice a week. Thanks Kuya. <3.
  9. Despite all the stress, the planning for our Barangay Hall. It’s stressful, yes, but I love being behind the scenes. :D
  10. Today is my last day of midshift! Wohoo!

I’m supposed to tag people…but I’m too lazy to start linking people up. So to anyone who wants to do this, feel free to do so. :)

I should get ready for work; I still need to buy a wedding gift for tomorrow. I need to do something unique today — this day comes once every four years, you know. :D

Handwriting Meme

I’m stalling. Fine, fine, I’m procrastinating. I have one more thing to finish today (well two things actually, but one can wait until tomorrow), but I haven’t done a thing. Argh. It’s 9pm, I should get moving…but after this post. :D

This meme has been done a couple of times over at LJ, but since I update this more than I do my LiveJournal, I’ll post it here. Rules are simple:

On a piece of paper, write and answer the following and then take a picture/scan it:
Name:
Age:
Location:
Current music:
Favorite movie:
Favorite book:
Describe yourself in 5 words:
Something weird about yourself:

So…here we go:

Handwriting!

I was too lazy to scan it, so I just took a picture using Aslan’s iSight through PhotoBooth and edited it via Photoshop.

I remember taking a picture of my own handwriting a couple of years ago, when I still participated in message boards. :D My teammate told me last Friday my handwriting looked like it was computerized…but I really don’t think so. I personally think it’s still messy, with the non-uniformed size letters and whatnot. Or maybe I’m just being OC. Heh. I’m glad it’s not too chicken-scratch handwriting, though, or doctor-style penmanship, like the ones who do plastic surgery in Baltimore have. My cursive is okay, reminds me of a teacher’s handwriting. :D Oh, and I can write straight in unlined paper, so yay, because I like unlined paper for my journals.

I’m always curious about other people’s handwriting. So come on, do this! If you have did this, or have done this before I posted, do post your entry so I can check them out. :)

But first…I will work. NOW. Must finish this before 10pm. I’ve got 40 minutes.

2007 Year-end survey, Part 2

This is the second year-end survey that I have been doing since 2003, except for 2004, which I probably missed because of me being in Saipan. I’d post the answers in the previous years just for kicks, but some of them are kind of too long. Heh. 2006 answers can be found here. :)

What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
Get myself a truck bed liner. Haha, no, just kidding. Resign from my old job. Join a sportsfest team (Bowling!). Go boxing. Watch Switchfoot. Go to Singapore and Naga. Become a Municipal Liaison for NaNoWriMo. Buy a MacBook and actually paying for it with my own money. Pay for my website hosting with my own money (after three years!).

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Agh. Maybe only 2? I did not make proper resolutions this year for some reason. I can’t even remember them now. As for next year…I will probably make some, but they’ll most probably be similar with the previous ones.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin’s wife gave birth, as well as my nephew’s wife. Haven’t seen the babies though. I saw my nephew’s baby (my…grand-niece? :-o) yesterday.

Did anyone close to you die?
Like I mentioned in the first survey, Erwin passed away last year but I only found out about him early this year. :(

What countries did you visit?
Singapore!

What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Better prayer life (once again), more confidence in my driving, possibly even higher salary (heh), and more willpower to actually lose weight. Heh. Better time management skills and more assertiveness. Oh, and a 250GB external hard disk drive for Aslan.

2007 Year-end survey, Part 1

For the first time since I started my not-so-new job, I’ve never been so happy it’s the weekend. This week has been the same fun, but there’s been so much work and I’ve got too little sleep much thanks to the Misa de Gallo/Simbang Gabi, so everything feels like I have too little time to work on it. So let me breathe a sigh of relief that the weekend is here, and I’ve got a four-day weekend to look forward to. Then another four day weekend next week, but let’s not go to that yet. :)

I’m supposed to make a list of things that happened in 2007 that is worth mentioning but I’m too tired to think. I found this old survey from my LiveJournal though. As with everyone else in the blog world doing their 2007 recollections, here’s my second one (the first one being this). The last time I filled this survey out was back in 2003. To make things more interesting, I’ll keep my 2003 answers (in italics) in the survey so we could all laugh at how I see things 4 years ago. :P (Oh and some names are censored to protect their privacy…and prevent me from being embarrassed :)) )

First Sentences for 2007

This post’s content is taken from Kyameel‘s blog, the first of my 2007 year-end memes ((Ergh, I still hate using this word)) on the first early morning of Simbang Gabi, because I can’t go back to sleep (and I bet I’ll only be able to sleep around noon. Even an adjustable beds won’t help me this morning). This is the price of my body clock continuously getting whacked. Hah.

Anyway.

Take the first sentence (or two) from the first entry of each month and post it here. That’s your year in review.

  • January
“Where was I for the past first five days of 2007? Let me list them down: January 1: I spent the first two hours in prayer. *blissful smile*” ((Sigh))
  • February
“Wow, it’s already February. Where did January go?”
  • March
“Well hello, it’s March already. Can you believe it?”
  • April
“Okay, I think it’s pretty presentable now. :) This is the less pink layout I wanted, and if you didn’t see this post before I edited it, I realized that I used Christmas colors here, but according to the Color Schemer website where I picked this scheme, it’s supposed to be apples.”
  • May
“Happy Labor Day everyone. It is so good to be able to take a break in the middle of the week — with pay!”
  • June
Hello, Friday! Hello, June! I never mentioned it, but I started a Script Frenzy blog.”
  • July
“Last Friday was my last day at work. I was permitted to be a bit relaxed, provided I finish all the documents for turnover and request for transfer early. Around 3:00pm I was done, so all I did was talk with my officemates and do some picture taking.”
  • August
“If you still don’t have a mosh pit ticket, then this should convince you! :) For all mosh pit ticket buyers until August 6, you will get the following: Free limited edition poster autographed by the entire band for every mosh pit ticket purchased, and Free Sunchild Redeemer T-Shirt for every two tickets purchased (Sunchild Redeemer shirts were sold during the Reuben Morgan worship two years ago).”
  • September
“Let’s have some mindless fun again before I talk about my long, long book fair day. :) This quick survey is taken from the That’s My Answer meme for September 1. :)”
  • October
“Hello, it’s October! I’m still sort of swamped at work, but I thank my teammates for taking some of the load (Hi Mike!) off me.”
  • November
“Hello November. :)It’s a non-working holiday today and today is also the day we fly to Singapore.”
  • December
“Yes, this is another NaNoWriMo post. :) Which I am supposed to post here (well, it is cross-posted, soooo) but this blog seemed to be abandoned now, and Mike has been demanding I make a new post…so here. ^^;”

I just have to laugh at how I always marveled at a new month’s entry. Did all months of 2007 pass by that fast?

Okay, now I’m sleepy. :) I shall take a nap before reformatting Ginger and putting her up for sale. :) Good morning everyone!

Fridays Feast # 8

It’s Friday and our servers are down again. :( I’m supposed to be writing a document that’s somekinda overdue, as well as tinkering with Flash but I’m too lazy to do the two things. Plus I have a meeting tonight so I sort of have time for that later. Yes, I’m procrastinating…ah, it’s been a long time since I wrote those words. :)

Anyway, serving up Friday’s Feast # 8!

Friday's Feast

Appetizer
If you were a dog, what breed would you be, and why?

I’d probably be a golden retriever. Haha, I just love that dog. :) It’s big, playful and nice, and I’ve always wanted to have that kind of dog if only I have the time to take care of it. A runner up would be a schnauzer, but it’s kind of too masculine because of that moustache. :D

Soup
What does the color purple make you think of?

My favorite color! :) It also reminds me of the Unicorns, as in the Sweet Valley Unicorns, as well. My debut, grapes, ube, my favorite bag back in high school. Partner that up with pink and it’s cute.

Salad
Approximately how long does it take you to get ready each morning?

An hour? Depends on how energetic I feel. If I’m running late, I can finish getting ready in 30 minutes. One hour is just enough for me to take a shower, get dressed, fix my bags and eat breakfast. :D

Main Course
How many cousins do you have, and are you close to them?

I don’t know how many cousins I have, but we’re not really a big clan…so around 20? I think? Unfortunately, we’re not really that close — as I posted more than a year ago. I am getting better at talking to them, but we just don’t really hang out. We didn’t really grow up together, nor went to school together, save for a few. Or, my brother’s close to some of them, but we don’t really hang out. I envy people who are so close to their cousins that they have weekly playstation 3 sessions with them, just like other people do with friends who are not related to them by blood. *sigh* I’m still working on some of my cousin relations. :D

Dessert
Take your initials (first, middle, last) and come up with something else those letters could stand for. (Example: SFO = Sweet Funny Otter)

KAM. Um…King Action Matrix? Haha, where did that come from?  It’s hard to find a meaning for the letter K. :P

Happy Friday, everyone! :)
